Nintendo Confirms Lead Cast for Upcoming Live-Action Legend of Zelda Movie



Nintendo has officially announced that Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will take on the iconic roles of Princess Zelda and Link in the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda video game series.



The news was shared via Nintendo’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, where renowned game designer and film producer Shigeru Miyamoto expressed his excitement about the casting choices. “I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen,” Miyamoto wrote.



The film is slated for a theatrical release on May 7, 2027, giving fans a long-awaited glimpse into Hyrule in live action.



In addition to the film, Nintendo will release a new game in the franchise, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, set to launch on September 26, 2024. Notably, this installment will allow players to control Princess Zelda as the main character—marking a first for the series.



Bo Bragason, 25, is an English actress known for her roles in Disney+’s Renegade Nell and the BBC dramas Three Girls and The Jetty. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Benjamin Evan Ainsworth has appeared in Netflix’s The Haunting of Bly Manor and Disney’s Flora & Ulysses.
